I'm Sonja Read, a 3rd-generation general contractor with over 30 years in residential and commercial construction. I learned the trade from my father's side of the family and studied at Texas Tech University. My mother was an award-winning artist -- creativity came naturally, and I fell in love with both the interior design and construction sides of this field.
Through life-changing events at age 50, I started my life over and created my own Design and Build custom home company over 11 years ago. Through determination and grit, I've been blessed to build beautiful luxury custom homes for amazing people across the Texas Hill Country, now based in the Austin, Texas area.
I specialize in interior design consulting, site planning, vendor coordination, and 3D project visualization. I've been honored to win multiple awards including parade homes, and every project still gets my full, personal attention from concept through completion.
